What is Port Pass?

Port Pass is a digital pass that allows visitors to seamlessly identify themselves at the entrance of a port terminal. It is used by port terminals to manage visitor access to their sites, in an ISPS-compliant way.

Companies whose employees need to enter terminals where Port Pass is implemented must purchase passes for those employees via the Port Pass portal. These passes allow employees to access the terminals that use the Port Pass system.

The Port Pass portal is used by companies to:

  • Buy passes for their employees

  • Manage passes and view of their current status.

Why do terminals use Port Pass?

Port terminals implement Port Pass to manage visitor access to their sites.

With Port Pass, terminals can:

  • Limit access to only people who have a reason to be there

  • Identify every visitor

  • Have a real-time overview of who is on the terminal

All of this is done contactless via a registration kiosk at the terminal entrance. Visitors can seamlessly register in any of 15 supported languages using their activated personal Port Pass.

What does this mean for your company?

If your employees need access to terminals where Port Pass is active:

Without a valid Port Pass, employees cannot access terminals that use the Port Pass solution.
